This paper consists of several layers. The base layer provides strength and impermeability to humidity. A layer resembling a honeycomb formed by a structure of cells so tiny that the smallest drop used so far, with a size of 1 picoliter, will fill in dozens of these cells. These cells prevent the movement of ink to the side and they virtually eliminate feathering. The top cover layer reacts with the ink and closes the cell hermetically after filling it.
